Yoga, Politics, and the Great India Tamasha

Yoga Quotes
Yoga is a skill in Karma.
The word yoga is said to be derived from the root yuj, which means “to connect” or “to unite”. Thus, one can translate the word yoga simply as a connection or unification. But the question arises, what does this connection or unification mean in true sense? And how does it relevant with current Great Indian Politics tamasha?

The connection or unification, here we are talking about is a spiritual one. It is a connection with higher consciousness or rather says unification with higher consciousness. The most authoritative text on yoga, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, talks about the same i.e. unification with supreme consciousness.

If you go through Shreemad Bhagwad Gita Chapter 2-40, 2-41, 4-27, 18-46 to 18-47, which defines Yoga in its true form, Karma Yoga, Truth exists in the past, present and future. False never exists. Only Atman (consciousness) is truth. It is also Sanātana (eternal). Every being need to know about this Sanātana. It is duty (Dharma) of each being to know Sanātana. This is also called as Moksha (to realize the true nature of Atman (consciousness) which is Paramatman, the higher consciousness). (Source)

In his statement Yogi Adityanath says, those opposing Surya namaskar should drown in the sea. On other hand Azam Khan says, the BJP leader should offer namaz to set his mind on the right track. Read here on Firstpost to know more.

I just want to ask them and you, that how worth it is. I believe it doesn’t worth. I believe, we need embrace each other; we need to understand each other and we need to respect each other. If someone don’t want to do something, who are you to force something. And if you don’t agree with me, then think if situation is reversed, if you are being pin down. Let’s celebrate our first International Yoga Day with one basic thought, it was first conceptualized, and to not mess such beautiful event, with our pity politics.
