Consciousness, Self Realization and Everyday Life

Self Realization Quotes

A normal day of a normal man somewhat looks like waking up at six, do some heavy exercise, or go for a quiet morning walk. If you are one of those laid backs, you look at the roof and think that you are thinking. A little struggle in bathroom. Breakfast. Work or School/College (if you are still there). Lunch. A little chit chat. Cursing your politicians or ramble about your favorite sports team. Get back to home. Dinner. And TV (In my case YouTube). Sleep. And then repeat all these stuff all over again on next so called normal day. And repeat again and again with little alteration with time, as you are about to get married, have a child, see your child graduation, attend your child’s marriage and be a grandad till the day you die.

Most of us do not want a break and love to follow the same routine till we do not die. Not because we love this freaking schedule. But purely because we don’t know anything else.

Moreover, no one wants to know what to do anything else other than that. No one wants to be free from the labyrinth. Everyone seems to be happy with current situation. But there are few who think otherwise and wants to be free.

However, those who are not like everyone, appeared to be more confused about these stuff than others. I mean, people who wish to escape from the labyrinth, are stuck with why?

Why, the hell, we can’t be just free?

But the answer is not in the why, the answer lies in the how. Most of us who want to escape from the labyrinth, always think about why, but we never think about how? And that’s the problem.

The key to how lies is in our consciousness. And to understand the concept of conciousness, we need to understand ourselves first. Bit confusing. But it is what it is.

Let me start with a story.

The God (Supreme One) was bored. So he decides to play with the marbles. He got bored with that too. So he flung the biggest marble in the center of the world, and today we know that marble as the Sun, and then he threw few more marbles, and they become earth, moon, and other planets and stars. He found a little blue color marble which he named Earth. He liked blue colored marble so much that he designed the land, sea, trees, and everything that appears on the Earth. He also created animals, flora and fauna to live there. And then he created you, mini-me version of him, so he can watch, what you will do, if you have his powers.

fin.

And now, when I tell you this is the real story behind the genesis, you may start laughing and some of you want to kill me for wasting your time. But if I tell you this story, some thousands year ago, and you may have believed every part of the story, and now you don’t. Because you are aware of the universe. Because you have studied Darwin Theory of Evolution. Because you are concious.

Because with every moment, we learn something new and with our new found knowledge, our consciousness grows, and as our consciousness grow, we become betterselves.

There is a hymn, Nasadiya Sukta, also known as Hymn of Creation in Rigveda, which beautifully defines how the world was created, and how the supreme one identified himself.

But, after all, who knows, and who can say
Whence it all came, and how creation happened?
the gods themselves are later than creation,
so who knows truly whence it has arisen?

Whence all creation had its origin,
he, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not,
he, who surveys it all from highest heaven,
he knows – or maybe even he does not know.

According to the Nasadiya Sukta, even god does not know, about the existence of the universe. It is only by gaining consciousness, and self realization, he found, what is the truth, I mean, what is the true meaning of life, how beautiful life it is, beside the daily routine.

So this is it. Don’t get trapped in your everyday life. Learn something new. Find yourself. And realize the beauty of life.

  1. Nice article. After we reach middle age, we fall into rut. Nothing much to look at professionally, we are clueless. I think if we search internally through meditation, we may find solace. Because, unlike other searches, inner quest is limitless till one becomes one with the universe.

    1. Beautiful thought Abhijit Sir, and yes, I totally agree with you, at some point of time, we all fall in rug. Not exactly in middle age, but some early and some later, but we all do fall. And it is only through self realization you can define what you are and what you are looking for.

  2. All these thoughts together put down very well.. Look within and you will be awake.. Awake to what? God? And why is he even there? Why just anything even God..? Why not just a naught? And if it is nothing then even its presence is something.. Why living and why even non-living??

    1. somebody told me, god is this and somebody god is that. But if you try analyze whole god thing there is no absolute one god. there are thousands and each one adjusted and modified according to your needs. So if you are not aware of yourself, your god is also not. And if you are aware, your god certainly be the one. I don’t know why they say, meditate to find god, instead of meditate to find yourself. 🙂

    1. Yes this is what really means. And in any case, if you read Roohi and mine comment thread, you will know what I want to say. Every person have his own god. So if you are aware about yourself and certainly your god be and if you are not aware and then your god not might be. For example, a staunch vaishnavite will think of vishnu as supreme one, a shavite will think of shiva as supreme one, a devi follower will think of shakti/kali as the supreme one. But if someone who is aware of the fact, they are just different forms of one formless thing, he will consider them as one. So like you have said treating one well mean we are treating god well. Yes, it is what really means.
