Everyone Has A Story By Savi Sharma

Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone is a writer. Some are written in the books, and some are confined to hearts.

Savi Sharma’s Everyone Has A Story is a Disneysque tale of two people who overcame their individual challenges to be together.

Moreover, in very Disneysque manner, it subtly touches some of the serious topics like individuality, depression, abortion, rape and murder, and leaves them without deeply engaging in any kind of discussion.

The novella starts with Meera, an HR and wannabe writer, who is in search of inspiration for her story. In hope to find her inspiration, she regularly visits author meets at Coffee & Us. Eventually, during one such author meet, she finds her inspiration in mysterious looking Vivaan, who is a banker and wishes to travel the world. She strikes up the friendship with Vivaan, with help of Kabir, his friend and the cafe manager.

Meera and Vivaan helps Kabir to open up his own cafe, the Kabir Kafe, and marry his love, Nisha. In time, the four of them gel very well and Meera is on verge of completing her novel. But one day, Vivaan quits his job and escpaes the city without informing anyone. This leaves Meera, Kabir and Nisha in shock and story actually begins from here.

Though, it is not a literary masterpiece, but it is a nice read, if we consider the fact, it is author’s first attempt. The characters are relatable, but they are too good to handle and lack depth. Moreover, in very Disneysque manner, there are many unexplainable things in the story. But if you are a Disney fan, you are going to ignore them.

I especially like the Kabir, who represents a new breed of men which respect women for their choices, and accept them with their past. Wish, Savi had developed the character a bit more.

You will enjoy the book from start to end, and it will surely leave a smile on your face, if you enjoy light rom-com reads. A book which you can certainly finish in your 6 hour long Delhi to Jaipur journey.

Notable Quotes From Everyone Has A Story.

Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone is a writer. Some are written in the books, and some are confined to hearts.

Love is a peculiar thing, I mused, watching them embrace. When you love, you have so much to be grateful for and to live for, but when you lose it, you go on with every single day as if you are just a shell. Survival is the only reason, one is on this earth. It has nothing to do with the fact that you feel anything as powerful as love any longer.

If I have any words of advice for you, it is this: embrace every day, even the rough ones. Each day is your very own page, and you have the power to write the words on those pages. Be courageous, and be strong, but don’t forget it is okay to be weak at times, too.

I want to travel but I don’t mean I want to be a tourist. I want to be a traveller, an explorer. I want to explore another country and become part of it. Climb the hills, swim the rivers, walk on beaches, find the libraries, discover the secrets and stories of the places.

    1. Indeed, I was not either going to buy the book, but the book title was so alluring that I could not resist myself to get it. Though I don’t regret because there is nothing like good book or bad book, they are books. 🙂
